Gene Info - Chrome Add-on for Viewing Gene Information

Gene Info is a free Chrome add-on developed by James Knight that allows users to easily view gene information while browsing the web. By double-clicking on a gene name or supported accession, users can retrieve detailed information about the gene and access links to related resources.

This add-on provides two display options for the information. Users can choose to view a detailed report or a minimal tooltip with links to outside resources. The extension's popup menu allows users to customize the information displayed according to their preferences.

Gene Info sources its information from various databases such as UniProt, BioGRID, Compartments subcellular localization database, Cancer Dependency Map, Gene Ontology Consortium, HGNC, Human Protein Atlas, IntAct, OMIM, Pfam, ProteomicsDB, and Reactome. It supports both human and model organism genes.

Please note that after installing Gene Info, reports will not open in tabs that were open prior to installation. To ensure proper functionality, users are advised to either reload any open tabs or restart Chrome.
